2nd cycle students and teachers
Although many of us think that Halloween is an imported festivity, which isn´t totally wrong, we should look at it as a way that we have absorbed the English language and its culture. Learning a foreign language is also about learning the countries’ culture. This year to celebrate Halloween, our students of 2nd Cycle were challenged to use their imagination and their language skills.
Halloween is a pagan religious celebration to welcome the harvest at the end of summer, when people would light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off ghosts.

Year 6 students were given a pumpkin template to create their own one and in turn, “bring it to life” by giving it a name and characteristics using their language skills.
Ultimately the students were thrilled to see their creativity on display. The corridors were left very colourful and charmingly spooky!
