Salesianos Schools educational proposal

Salesianos de Lisboa is a place of education that aims to help families promote: a complete development of the students’ personality; a growing self-confidence and ability to take the lead and responsibility for their own educational process; a development in respect for the fundamental rights and freedom of a person; an increase in the capacity to coexist and respect cultural and religious plurality; an enhancement of attitudes that favour responsible participation in social and cultural life; a commitment to build a society in which peace, cooperation and solidarity between people is possible.

As a Catholic school, we seek: to promote the integral instruction of students according to a Christian vision of the person, life and the world; to create an environment that favours the testimony and evangelising action of believers; to present to those who are interested and with complete liberty of choice, educational journeys in Faith; to collaborate with other social entities committed to building a society.

The Salesianos school has its roots and foundations in Don Bosco’s educational experience. Inspiration for the principles and criteria for action have been taken from this experience: it is popular, free and open; it cultivates a family environment that educates; it places the student at the centre of the educational process; it emphasizes the personalization of educational relationships through the presence of educators in the midst of young people; it favours the co-responsible participation of all; it promotes solidarity with the most needy and other entities; it ‘educates by evangelizing and evangelizes by educating’.
